چکیده

Wool fibres have been chemically modified by reduction I chlorination under acidic pH Ipre-swelling in conc. formic acid prior to their dyeing with indigenous reactive dyes of different molecular configurations to enhance the reactive dye uptake on wool fibre substrate. The pretreatment processes are inexpensive, less harmful and less time consuming as against the use of imported special wool reactive dyes.

Antimicrobial and Dyeing Properties of Reactive Dyes with Thiazolidinon-4-one Nucleus

Four imines, the condensation products of 2,4-dioxo-4-phenylbutanal with four primary amines, were condensed with mercapto acetic acid to obtain thiazolidinon-4-ones which on subsequent condensation with vanillin and isatin separately yielded eight thiazolidin-4-one derivatives. The chemical structures of the synthesized compounds were elucidated by elemental analysis, molecular weight determin...

Achillea Millefolium, a New Source of Natural Dye for Wool Dyeing

Today, natural colorants are emerging globally due to the fact that they are safer and more environmentally-friendly. Natural dyes have been employed in dyeing Persian carpet piles for many years. In this study, the dried Achillea was used for dyeing wool yarns. The Iranian wool yarn was scoured, mordanted using Cu, Sn, Al salts and then dyed with different amounts of dried Achillea powder. A Comparative Study on the Dyeability of Stabraq (Milkweed) Fibers with Reactive Dyes

In this work, raw fibers of a local species of stabraq (milkweed) were scoured, bleached and blended with cotton fibers with a ratio of 75/25 (cotton/stabraq). The improved stabraq fibers, scoured and bleached cotton and the blended fibers were spun into fine yarns and then they were subjected to dyeing with two types of reactive dyes namely, cold brand and high exhaustion brand reactive dye at...
